Aqua Hot systems

Ok, I am new here and I live in Visalia, Ca. I am in need of information from the members that have the Aqua Hot or similar system. I searched the forms and I did not find a match for my Aqua Hot information so I assume there has not been a link to Aqua Hot questions.
I have been looking at Tiffin motorhomes, alegro bus types, and I am concerned about the need for a Aqua Hot system because of the service and break down expenses. How do I know if the system is working properly and what are the expenses of running it and upkeep. I have talked to some of the owners and it does not sound very positive from some of the owners I have met.
What have been some of your experiences plus and minus before a buy a coach with this feature. Is it worth it?
I am in the search mode now for a coach upgrade.
I now have a Monaco Diplomat 2001 I am about ready to sell.

I hope I find some answeres.

Jerry

First of all ...

We love our Hydro-Hot. Hydro-Hot was the predecessor to Aqua-Hot. It was one of Donna's prerequisites when we bought our coach and if it keeps her happy, in my view, it's worth what ever it takes.

There is a lot of info about maintaining and servicing both systems on this forum and if you want even more info go to RV Hydronic Heater Repair - Home and join Roger Berke's forum too. I believe that most owner's, parts and repair manuals are available in pdf form from the Aqua-Hot website just for the downloading.

Jerry, first off welcome to iRV2...The aqua-hot system is a GREAT system and I'm sure that you will love it. The endless hot water, and even heat in the coach makes it worth every penny that you paid for it. I've had two coaches (2007 Monaco Dynasty and a 2008 Monaco Sig) with it so far and there is NO way I would ever own a RV without it. You will need to have it serviced every 12 months, but with the new low sulfur diesel you can probably stretch it out to 18 months.

Our coach has Aqua Hot, and we love it. To be honest, it was not working properly when we first took delivery of the coach, even though it was brand new, and it took a couple tries before an Aqua Hot service tech finally got it right. That was well over a year ago and so far, knock on wood, no further issues - and I've been living in it full time since last Sept 1st. As was stated, unlimited hot water, and when used to heat the coach, so much quieter than the propane furnaces we're all familier with.

When it goes wrong, it can be very frustrating. The 'secret' is, find someone with Aqua Hot specific knowledge and experience to service it.

Aqua Hot system

Thanks everyone for responding to my question on Aqua Hot systems. I feel a little better about buying a coach with this type of water system.
