Arizona Newbie

Well, I think I first showed up on this site a few months ago, but only to research.

Now, I am just about a new owner! I pick up my 2009 Winnebgo Chalet 24vr on Thursday at Camping World in Mesa.

The mh is what I want, the other policies/contracts on insurance, extended warranty, roadside assistance and storage are all falling into place. Big thank you to all who post on this site! I couldn't have made the decisions without you!

And, I'm already booked for a quick nearby trip and working on a longer trip in May to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce and Yellowstone.

Now, I just have to get through the PDI. Really nervous about that!

Life is good!

Hi kmesaaz

Congrats on your new unit and don't worry the PDI will go smooth, I just went through mine on our new purchase and only two things were bad.... the Batteries (i got three new ones) and the awning, a small $25 repair also covered. We will be travelling to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce and Yellowstone in the next few months. If you get their before me please feel free to share your experience.

cheers
dennis

Thanks for the encouraging words. I am nervous.

Can't believe you're headed in the same direction. Where's home?

If you are going to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon make certain to check on the opening date--usually May 15th or so. I was there last year and there was snow all over the place. I think Yellowstone also opens mid May, depending on the snow.

On your PDI, who paid for the batteries etc? I really don't get this. Seems weird to have them conduct their own PDI (as opposed to having it done independently), and then they bill you....for repairs which may or may not be needed on the unit they are selling to you???

We will be going to the same places about the first of April hope the canyons are open for our 31' Winne Chalet we just bought it. It is our 12th coach I will be starting a new business around Quartsite next year the area needs a good R.V. inspector for new buyers.
Have a safe trip we will try and keep in touch.
