Back up Camera

My '93 Bounder's back-up camera either works sporadically or not at all. When it does work the image is fime. Do I have a monitor, ca,era or connection issue? Should I just replace the whole kit and kaboodle?

It is usually the camera that dies first. They can be replaced rather cheaply.
