Battery Question
I left a light on in my 36' Holiday Rambler. The house batteries were almost dead when I discovered it. The generator would not start and the house batteries were at about 6 V. I started the engine and then the generator, and the house batteries started charging but the electrical panel keeps flashing CHARGE and INVERTOR. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to press SETUP? The house batteries now read about 13V.

Double check the 13v battery reading is not with any charging occurring. How long have you allowed to charge? I would give it a day or more.
May have toasted the batteries. )-:

Hi Chuck! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!
Push the "Inverter" button to turn it off. The Charge light or reading is normal. It's just a matter of time now!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

If your 12 volt system read at 6 volts, then the batteries were dead as a doornail ! Try to never let them get below 50% state of charge as shown in this chart.

You may have to reset the inverter, I believe you have to turn off all power to it (120V and 12V), also if you have solar pull the fuse.
Turn every thing off for a period of time and then turn everything back on.

I read you should never run generator when plugged into 110 power, you risk damaging your inverter.

Likely the voltage was too low for the inverter to function. The lower limit is usually around 10 volts and less than that triggers a warning and the inverter shuts down.

Flashing inverter indicates it is on standby. That is correct for being on generator or shore power. Charge slow flashing indicates it is absorption charging. See http://www.xantrex.com/documents/Dis...C7GSRevNew.pdf

Won't be the inverter unless the transfer switch is built into it. Then it'll be the transfer switch that sticks and needs replacing.

Should not be an issue. You have an automatic transfer switch.

Ditto: Low voltage can confuse the panel.
