Battery recharging help

Hello All,
My family and I are completely GREEN to RVing. I have a new 2013 Forest River Vengence 396V Toy hauler. and killed my batteries last night. I am boon docking w/o hookups. Question: When I recharge my batteries, do I have to have the battery disconnect on or off to recharge? Thanks

Welcome to irv2.
If you have your shore line plugged in always have battery disconnect on.
You will get them fully charged faster if you use a 12v battery charger across your battery terminals.
Make sure you have water over your battery plates and use distilled water to fill them.

Depends on how you're gonna recharge them! As 007 said, if you can hook to shore power to recharge them you will need the battery disconnect switch on. If you use a portable charger I think you would want the switch off. JMHO!

Glad to have you with us. I assume that if you are boon docking you will rely on the generator to charge the batteries. Leave the disconnect on, why lose your power?
