I'm new to your forum(I think I put my first post in the wrong place so i'll try another)I'm Larry,my better is Rosalin,we have a shitsu?,Wally and a 03 Discovery pulling a 07 Sierra crew with a 16' boat and trailer in the bed.Our home is in southern Utah(near Zion NP)I recently went fishing in AZ and had terrible heating probs with my 330 Cat.I found a lot of info on your forum about rear rads so I cleaned it 4 times, now I think I need to change my belts. Can anyone tell me how and the difficulty, the shop wants $500,I'd rather spend it on fuel.thanks, ldsord

Larry, WELCOME to iRV2.

I'll link this post to the CAT forum, and delete your post in the wrong forum.

It would have been best to post your question in the CAT forum, by starting a new topic.

No harm done, and you'll soon be right at home here.

ldsord, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have youjoin us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. Changing the belts will require two people; one on top and inside the engince compatment from under the bed and the other will have to be under the engine on the outside. I would recommend you try to get a good photograph if you do not already have a chart for the belt path. THe job is not real hard, you just have to get in ackward positions and be willing to get your hands dirty. You will need a 1/2" breaker bar to move the tensioner pully. Good luck and keep us posted.

I appreciate the welcome, Dirk and the responce from you, Mike. When I talked to the repair shop he told me they could do a better job with a steam cleaner(on my radiator) than I with a hose and degreaser and that they might have to remove the damper pulley to get to the belts.I don't know if they're preparing me for a big bill and discourage me so they can get the work or what. They changed my oil, steamed my rad put in 2 air cleaners about a year ago(I changed oil myself last time and saved about $200,it was easy)that cost me close to $600,so I'm ready to try to do more of my own maintainance if I can.I had the floor up when I cleaned the rad.and the front of the motor was pretty unaccesable,so if you can,Mike, walk me through the process,or anyone else who has a coach similar to mine.thanks for the help,Larry
