Smile Brand new to the RV World

Hi, my name is Barry Wright and my wife is Mary. We just bought a Monaco Diplomat and will take delivery next week. We are very excited. We live in Munds Park, Az which is in the Ponderosa Pines south of Flagstaff. All advise is appreciated!

Welcome to the forum, Barry and Mary. Plan several hours for the PDI (pre-delivery inspection) and do a search here on that topic so you go with a checklist. Have the dealer demonstrate EVERYTHING, then send his/her away so you can check out how the drawers and cabinets open, lift the bed, pull out the sofa, etc. on your own, then you try to do EVERYTHING and have your dealer come back to address any questions or issues.

You want to throughly examine the outside also. Check the alignment of wiper blades, all calking, decal placements, corner moldings, fenders, climb the ladder or ask for one to examine the roof, crawl under the vehicle to check mud flaps, loose wiring along the frame and engine compartment, look for oil residue on filters, pans, and wiring, check for seals and calking around all access holes in the sides of cargo storage compartments.
Also ensure they guarantee wheel alignment and balancing of wheels.

Hello Barry & Mary: WELCOME to the road gang!! Are you guys taking up the full time life, or keeping your place S. of Flagstaff?? My wife and I sure like that part of the country although we're presently wintering over here in Tampa, FL since our boy just got back from Iraq. Next yr. it'll be back to AZ!! Have fun with your new rig, and don't be a stranger on this forum. Steve & Lynette

Hi Steve & Lynette! We are taking up the parttime RV life. We will be on the road from September until April and return to our Cabin for the summer. We lived in Tampa until 2003 when we moved to Phoenix. Hope to meet you sometime. Barry and Mary

Barry & Mary: Yes, it'd be nice to visit w. you folks sometime. In the past, we've hung out over in the Surprise area of Phoenix and like it, but often spend most of our Arizona time down around Tucson. Where ya going to be traveling during Sept.-April?? Steve & Lynette
