Talking Broken Passenger side Windshield

Hello, RVers,my name is James Armstrong,Dewby for short. just purchased a vintage 1983 Fleetwood Pace Arrow ,that has been sitting for about 8 years .It has a ton of issues but the first thing that is a must to fix is the passenger side windshield. it is broken where it wines around the side of the coach. and the main seal needs replaced. can anyone suggest where I can get a replacement part of such. And also I put a regular car battery in where the chassis battery goes but it wont crank over,I tried to jump start it and still nothing, but the Onen 6.2 gen set did try to crank but it seemed like there just wasn't enough power from the Batteries to make it happen .The people I purchased it from said that their Dad owned it before he passed and that everything worked on it ,or it did before it sat. Can anyone help . Thanks .

Do a Google search of RV Windshields and you will get all kinds of hits for replacement windshields.

As far as the motor not turning over after setting for 8 years it is probably frozen up and will need to be rebuilt.

Good luck,
Jon

Welcome! I admire your willingness to take on the challenges a 32 year old coach that sat for 8 years can present!

Broken Passenger side Windshield

Pull the plugs and see if it will turn over with a ratchet wrench on the damper wheel. Otherwise, voltage. Clean all battery and frame connections.

Hi James,

Welcome to the Forum! We just had a windshield replaced in our 2004 and had had some trouble finding one in our own state. Did a google search and found a place in Elkhart, Indiana called Duncan Systems.

They have a storeroom that is HUGE and full of RV windows of all kinds and sizes. I would look them up and fill in the info on the site and Cathy will get back with you on the availability. They were great to work with! They replaced ours and we are very happy with the job and cost.

You can also go to RVServicereviews.com and look there. I put a review there on Duncan Systems. There is also a Duncan Repairs right next door to them that does amazing work. You could contact them as they also have and do windshields.

Good Luck, PM me to let me know if they have one for you. Lynne

What engine is in that 1983 Fleetwood Pace Arrow?
How many miles on the odometer?

IMO the first thing you need to do is get it to started, running and moving... (a replacement windshield is way down on the list of must haves).

This may be helpful.

Good luck.
