Hi,

We're started to research an upgrade to Ventana 3942 or KS 3943. We currently have a gas bunk model and want to upgrade to Diesel. In our current floor plan, the bunk house has it's onw TV and it's very easy for the kids to connect gamestation.

Has anyone looked over the bunk TVs in the Newmar models? Is there anyway to connect external devices?

Thanks,

Can each bunk TV watch a different channel?

In our current setup, the Bunk TV and the external TV are on the same feed on the video distribution, if external TV is connect to DVD, Antenna, etc, then the bunk TVs have to be the same. Anyone know how they are wired in the Newmar models?

bkh welcome to the Newmar forum and irv2.
The TV control box you have in your upper cabinet up front with VCR in the newer coachs have inputs in mine for three TV's plus VCR. Most VCR are on there way out so that input maybe used for TV. I have never looked for larger control TV controls but I bet there are larger ones.
You would also have to check with Newmar and find out how they wire cable input to those to TV's and outside TV input they may all be on one feed back to control box as your present one is.
Newmar will wire somethings the way you want but you will have to check with them.
Most newer TV's have game inputs because thats what the kids want find out what model when talking with Newmar.
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

We are also looking at the KSDP 3943 and had the same question. Our dealer contacted Newmar and they indicated that they will run and connect the devices however we want.

I'm going to have them run everything to a central spot and mirror both those tvs on either their own Sat receiver or the second output of a dual tuner sat receiver. Either way you can use an RF remote for them to have channel changing abilities and they will have access to recorded shows and such.

The only limitation is the in motion or stationery sat service which I'm currently researching. A switch if functional with the sat system can solve the issue of not having enough LNBs. Otherwise I'll dedicate a tuner from one of the two dvrs to those tvs.

Because of the way the automatic systems move from bird to bird depending on what you are watching I don't think a switch will work in this case as someone watching a show on one bird will get cut off if the system switches. It will also depend on if you want HD access or not in the rig as that also changes how things work.

We have five TVs with the Winegard controller able to control four of them separatley. We instructed Newmar as to how we wanted the tvs set up(including wiring/power for our 4th and 5th tvs-we provided the LCD tvs). We also have a dual sat dish with two receivers allowing for two different tvs for sat.
