After a little over a year of purchasing our first RV I finally got time sign up and and start browsing irv2.
We purchased a 1997 Winnebago Adventurer 34' Chevy chassis (wish it were a Ford). Previous owner took real good care of it. Has just 42,000 miles. Previous owner also upgraded both TV's to flat panels so that was one less thing I had to worry about. We've Only been on a few in-state (GA) trips and so far we love it. Longer trips coming up this fall
I've done the following upgrades
* Winegard RV-WING Wingman White UHF Booster TV Antenna. Noticed a huge difference is reception. I also swapped out the original RG59 running to the antenna with RG6.
*LED panels to replace the 1156 bulbs that throw off so much heat.
The LEDs were 24 5630 SMD panels I purchased off eBay. I know most likely cheap Chinese crap but so far they've worked really well no complaints and I've had none of the other issues I've seen other people posting about. These LED panels have really cut down on the heat that the older light bulbs threw off. I can leave them on for hours and they're barley warm. For a little over $40 I've replaced every 1156 bulb inside, out and basement
* KeyLine Chargers KC-125-MPXP Battery Tender for when its not in use to keep the house batts fresh
* New Hercules H902 tires. Previous tires had plenty of tread but were 7 years old. Only reason I went with the Hercules is the price was perfect, $0.00 out of pocket! Only cost me a weekend of labor at a truck tire company rewiring and cleaning up their network.
I've done a few more minor ones but those are slipping my mind now. I think we're done with the upgrades for this unit for now as it was just our entry level to see if we'd enjoy it and boy we love it! So I'm sure within a few years we'll be getting a newer one
.
Well I think I've rambled on long enough. Good to be here!
