Checking in from WA state

Just checking in for the first time on this forum. We bought a relatively new 2008 Winnebago Journey 39Z in February of this year. Traded up from a 25ft Arctic Fox TT and just love it. The motorhome is perfect for the agility dog shows that my wife and I go to about twice a month.

The Journey had 3700 miles on it when we picked it up so it was basically new. We have a little over 7K on it now and all is great. I had a few problems at first with water leaks but they were covered under warranty.

First upgrade is going to be re-installing a 110watt solar pannel and a new charge controller. Then after this winter I will replace the 3 group 31 12v house batteries with 4 or 6 240 amp 6v deep cycles. Have to work out a few modifications to get 6 batteries in with the chassis batteries.

So far so good, looking forward to browsing this forum and many good trips in the Journey!

Hello to everyone!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new rig!!! Feel free to post any questions you might have and/or to lend your expertise. I'm sure a lot of us will be interested in hearing and seeing pictures of your battery conversion project.

If your travels ever take you to North Carolina you might want to check out Four Paws Kingdom - The best kept secret for Camping with your Dog!. We full time with three dogs and heard about this place word of mouth. Ended up spending the entire month of April there this year and just loved it. They are dog nuts and teach agility classes at all levels. Seven enclosed dog parks on site including two agility courses and one that has a swimming pond for dogs and their owners!

Hi PDQ_BC

I am from Vancouver, and I come up to White Rock to see Dad about every other week. Dad is going to be 98 on the 21st of October and he is still going strong.

Thanks Bachler:
I have 12.6 acres in Stanwood, too much grass to mow. Not enough time to be in the MH. And I commute to Bellevue everyday for work. (55 miles)

Welcome. We live in Anacortes. Currently, we're in Lincoln City, OR, in 35-knot winds, low cloud and rain. We had a couple of really nice days in Cape Blanco and Heceta Beach, but the weather has turned. Not too surprising - it is mid-October afteer all.

Heading up to Tillamook to see the Air Museum tomorrow, then to Fort Stevens and a visit to downtown Astoria (maybe 2 nights). After that, it's up to Montesano, then highway 8/12 to I-5. We'll make one overnight somewhere in SW Washington, then home.

Hi Frank, good to hear from fellow Washintonians! The Spruce Goose is awsome. I saw it when it was down in Los Angeles with the Queen Mary. Great that you have two labs, I bet they keep each other company!
