Coachmen Santara Class A

Hi all, my wife and I are new to this site and look forward to many years of communications.
We have been into camping since the late 70's and started out in a tent like most of you I'm sure. We currently own a Komfort travel trailer and are looking at stepping up to a motorhome.
We have found a 2004 Coachmen Santara class A 3480ds that looks to have the same equip., workhorse, 8.1, allison tranny that most other Manufactures have but for some reason the Coachmen gets a bad rap. The quality of the house and and exterior of the coach are both beautiful and the workmanship and attention to detail seem to be as good or better than others.
Help, before we sigh on the bottom line.

Welcome to iRV2. We are glad you found us.I believe you have found the friendliest site on the Internet. I can't comment on the Coachmen but I can tell you I am very happy with my Workhorse 8.1 and the Allison tranny. I have about 50,000 miles and only some minor problems mostly with the box. Post often and don't be afraid to ask questions.

We have a 03 Georgie Boy built by Coachmen and are very happy with it. Just like cars and trucks everyone has their opinion on which are better.

Our Pursuit is on a V10 Ford chassis but as far as the the rest of the coach goes we are very pleased.

We FTed in a 1999 Santara 37' triton V-10 for almost 3 years. We up-graded to a Kountry Star Diesel last month. We loved the Santara.
