I have a 04 suncruiser 38R and we have problems with cold showers. Has anyone had this and found the fix?

Good Morning Russ Johnson...
I can't help you with your cold shower problem...but I would like to be the first to officially welcome you to iRV2! 
I think you may have found from your first post that this really is the friendliest RV forum on the web. I am sure that someone will come along with some answers for you - but it may take a day or two...just like before.  We may also get this linked to Winnebago Owners Forum... where you may get a better response.
Again...Welcome to iRV2...hope you sit back, enjoy the forum and continue to post any problems and solutions you may have!

I don't have a problem with cold showers but while taking a sea shower, when I turn the water back on at the shower head, it's ice cold for a few seconds. A real wake-up call if you're not paying attention!
If anyone has a solution for that also, thay would be good

I had this problem when I first bought mine. The solution was a shut off valve that went fully 100% off, not dribble.
They save water as well as prvent the cold blast. You can get them from water solutions or make your own. Don't get the shut offs that they sell at normal stores since these dribble just like the shut off in the shower.
If you want to make your own, get a three way diverter and a 1/2" cap. Not real pretty but very effective for about $5.

Welcome to IRV2 . Not sure which water heater you have (either the 6 gallon or 10 gallon). Assuming whichever you have is working properly, neither will provide enought hot water to take the kind of shower you can at home. We do the 'Navy' routine and always have enough hot water.
When we first got this rig, the water did not seem hot enough. It was a problem with the faucet. Someone had taken the knob off and put it on incorrectly, keeping it from rotating far enough toward the hot side. Once I corrected that, we had very hot water.
It would be helpful to know if you have no hot water or if it just seems to run out quickly.

Welcome to IRV2. You will come to appreciate it as much as the rest of us have I am sure. As smlranger said it would be helpful if we had a little more info on your situation. There probably is a hot water by-pass for winterizing that could be your problem if you have no hot water. It may still be in the by-pass position.

I had the same problem. I removed the valve & took it apart. The hot & cold mixer kind of floats, so if it becomes dirty with hard water deposits & such, it sticks to just cold water. It has been 3 years since I cleaned mine so I don't remember all the details on taking it apart. Not really all that hard if you have some ability. Recaulk around the outside cover of the faucet.

If you do not have hot water at the lavatory and kitchen sink then your probablem is likely to be related to your hot water heater.
If you do have hot water everywhere else then you should focus on your shower control

Russ,
Assuming your HW problem is only in the shower, do you have a Moen control as our '05 38R has? If so, here is a link for Moen contact info.
They will send replacement parts at no cost to you.

I didn't see this in any of the other posts but a common reason for the shower not having hot water is the outside shower valves being left open with the hand wand turned off.

Welcome Russ Johnson to irv2.
If you have a shower in your water bay make sure the faucets are closed so it will not mix the cold & hot water to your inside shower.
