Talking Diesel Pusher recommendations

Hello All! I'm new to the forum and have been researching diesel pushers. I currently have a great class C, but I want an upgrade. Kinda want to move past the class A gassers. I'm always pulling toys too btw. At this point in my life I'm mainly a weekend warrior, every weekend from memorial day through labor day with a few longer excursions in between. Being from Alaska, we just don't get that much time to play. My current rig is a forest river 3101S and have become quite fond of it, which has pointed me towards a new Berkshire, however, they seem to receive quite mixed reviews Anyway, any advice would be great. Sorry for rambling.

We have a Berkshire 390QS, 2009. like all motorhomes there has been a few issues, mostly what sould have been caught at the factory, howver having a dealer near by who has fixed them under warrenty has worked out. For a 40' the price is good since we purchased it in 2010 and the dealer wanted it off the lot since he had 2011s coming in. Have had no problems with then Cummings or Frightliner chassis. by the way, leaving for AK in a couple weeks.

Hi Put79! Welcome to IRV2. I don't know anything about DP but some others will be along soon to help you out. Good luck finding the right MH for you.

Thanks for the insight. Still researching. My problem is, I'll be buying in the lower 48 because of the poor selection up here. I'm wondering how problems with a newly delivered rig might be handled.

I have a Tiffin. Had it since 2008 and love it. Nice thing about Tiffins is that you can have work done by any qualified repair shop and they will cober as along as you get prior approval. Had a few issues when we picked her up but nothing serious. The Tiffin Phaeton is the number one DP for the past few years for a reason. Go luck with your search. I've found that the search is half the fun. We also had a class C and bnow drive an A.

Welcome to IRV2! Sure glad to have you join the bunch here! Good luck on your search for the Class A! We went with the Monaco and are pleased with it. If you look at older Monacos I understand that there was a very serious and costly problem concerning "trailing arms". Luckily my 2002 model was not involved in that. Good luck & God bless!

There are several quality brands of diesel pushers. We went with Holiday Rambler (Monaco) and have not been disappointed. Our rig was 10 years old when we bought it and was in very good condition. Personally I would avoid brand new because of the much higher price tag and the immediate and heavy depreciation. There are a glut of DPs on the used market right now, so you should be able to find something that meets your needs at a bargain price. Have fun looking!

Welcome aboard. We have a Newmar and couldn't be more pleased. Newmar and Tiffin are comparable quality brands and each has an excellent reputation for quality and service.
