East TN new member
Hi everyone! My hubby and I just purchased a 2015 Thor Freedom Elite 23H to use for mostly dog shows but we'll throw in some camping trips (haul the motorcycles) too. I am not totally new to the RV world, lived in my 5th wheel for a year and a half 10 yrs ago. After a few horrible hotel rooms while at dog shows, it tipped the scale for my husband to get on board with the rv.
We decided to go with a class c since half the shows we go to do not have electric hookups. We went with a smaller unit since it will either be just me and 2 medium dogs or sometimes the hubs will come with us (someone has to drive me home so I can sleep!). Luckily I am trial secretary for our barn hunt group so that will help with the payments of the rv.
Most of our trips are 4-6 hrs one way. Shows are 2-3 days over the weekend. I usually go to 2 shows a month. And of course there is NADAC champs which is a week long event. We are already planning on hauling the hubbies motorcycle for 2016 champs when it's back in WY or UT. He was disappointed when talk that it would be back on our side of the country this year.
My first show is next weekend (gives me this week to get must haves) in KY. It's actually our closest agility show. Then I have a 4-day barn hunt in December and a 2-day agility show the weekend after that (my birthday weekend!!).
So excited to be camping again (with walls since we bought a bunkhouse camper (motorcycle)). Will be checking out the Traveling with Pets part of the forum to get pointers.

Welcome to the group. I'm Georgia in Lower Alabama. Congratulations on your fine new acquisition! We're not show people but have 2 dogs and are going to attend one of the Four Paws Kingdom events in Rutherfordton, NC in the spring. It will be our first time so I can't rave about any of the fun details yet. We will be there during a dress up contest and 'transform your rig into a tiki hut' event.
