Hello All,

Jerry and Leah from just North of San Diego checking in for the first time on this forum. For well over a year we've lurked and learned (a bunch) from the members of iRV2. We resisted joining until we actually pulled the trigger.

We love road trips. Over many years (just celebrated our 45 wedding anniversary), we've transitioned from tent camping on motorcycle trips throughout CA and AZ, to our hippy years in a VW bus. In the early 80's we owned, for a short while, a used '76 Commander 24' Class A gasser. That was not much more than a wooden box (no slides) on a chassis. We've even rented a travel trailer and drove through CA, AZ, NV, and CO . Through it all, because of the RV lifestyle, we made memories for ourselves and our (now adult) children.

In our research process we stepped into coaches (new, gently used, and those road hard and hung up wet) too numerous to count from a variety of manufacturers. We talked with sales reps that ranged from exceptionally helpful and informative to annoyingly offensive.

The first order of business, as I learned on the forum, is find a floor plan that DW likes (Happy Wife…Happy Life…did I mention 45 years??). So much more was learned while reading this forum. Also very important was the insight, guidance, assistance, and trust provided by our dealer/owner/salesperon (Tom Lindstrom RV). Not to be excluded was the patient assistance provided by Jason Bruckhoff at Lichtsinn Motors (Winnebago). This level of exceptional customer care was mirrored by the helpful and dedicated employees at Newmar. That involved multiple conversations with Michelle Howard, Linda Setnor both in sales…and Kirk in customer service. All of the above were valuable in helping us arrive at our decision. All were great ambassadors of their product line.

With all of that said, five weeks ago when we finalized our option and specials list and placed a deposit on a yet to be built 2015 Newmar Ventana 3636. We are taking the factory delivery, ETA June (is it June yet??).

We are looking forward toward returning to the RV lifestyle…and our eventual retirement. We long to travel without the stress to see EVERYTHING… in a SHORT amount of time …before having to RUSH back to work. This slower lifestyle is very appealing and much anticipated. Our new coach will help us realize this dream.

Sorry for the long first post…we are just so darned excited!!

Our sincere thanks to all that contribute to this great forum. We hope to pay it forward at some point. We look forward making new memories and friendships on the road while we are Having a Blast.
