First camper, new life in Eastern Washington!

Hi there!

After 27 years in Colorado, I decided there was more to life than just working to pay bills, so I quit my job, sold most of my stuff, bought a used camper, and towed it to Kettle Falls, Washington, to start a new life with my little dog, Zilla (see profile pic).

I'll be living in my camper while I develop my property. There may be boondocking. There may be solar. I may have to spend a winter in it. But I'm staying at a gorgeous campground right now until my driveway is in. Then I'm parking it on my land!

Wish me luck!

Kettle Falls will get cold in the winter. Good idea to start learning generally how to get through it now, and you'll pick up the finer points for your individual situation as those individual issues come up.

Skirting, what yo use and how to use it to protect against extreme cold
Keeping water lines (leading to, and the ones inside your RV) flowing freely
Dumping the tanks in sub-freezing weather
Can you get a larger propane bottle delivered to your property and how much will that cost? Lugging around 30 or 40 pound tanks every week might get old fast.
How to reduce condensation inside the RV in the winter (oh yes, it will likely become a very real problem, unless you can stop breathing while you're inside )

I got through sub-zero overnight temps in the winter of '16 while working in Idaho Falls ID. It's doable, but you gotta know what you're getting into, and how to deal with it.
