First Time Owner From Mass

Just bought a 1992 Fleetwood Southwind 29' Class A. Not in perfect condition but pretty good for a 20 year old camper. We are first time RV owners with lots to learn. And most likely lots of questions to ask at some point.

I'm also a backpacking backwoods hammock camper. Got the Fleetwood to help the missus be more comfortable traveling and enjoying the outdoors.

Thank's for having a community like this.

Merddin,
I have a cousin in West Brookfield, MA, and I spent the first 18 years of my life in North Brookfield, MA, but it was an accident of birth.

Anyhow they get together with a group of MH'ers quite a few times throughout the year and have a camping get-to-gather. If interested, PM me with your email address and I'll get them in touch with you.

Welcome to iRV2. Nice looking MH. I am sure you & the Mrs will enjoy it. We are also backpackers & we keep our gear under the bed. When we are near someplace we want to go explore where we can't take the MH we pack up our hiking/camping gear & hit the trail. Always nice to have a shower & comfortable bed awaiting at the trail head for the return.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Wayne M - Thank you for the offer I'll send you a PM shortly. I grew up in Belchertown lived in Montague for a number of years now I'm right down the road from you cousin in Warren. It is a small world sometimes.

dsbike - I'm hoping to use my MH in much the same way. Some trails have campgrounds at the trailhead like the Tully Trail and I imagine that this is the perfect thing to come back to with a shower and a bed.

I have also chosen a 1992 Fleetwood Southwind. Waiting to close on a piece of property here in Florida.

I am also a native of Massachusetts. Grew up in northern Worcester County. Phillipston.

Maybe will see you out there sometime.

Safe travel

Looks like a group of yankees from Mass in here! I grew up in Groton MA many years ago. Just returned from a trip up there, and looks like i got out in the nick of time...I'm also a new member and have thoroughly enjoyed the friendship and information I've picked up so far.
thanks to all the 'ole folks' and new new folks.

Penny,

Welcome ... This is a great bunch of people and they have helped me out immensely with many newbie and not-so-newbie questions.

We currently live and work in the Merrimack Valley of Massachusetts but are looking forward to taking increasingly frequent trips in our rolling home. (Hopefully out of this #@*&! snow...!!!)

Post often and let us know all about your adventures.
