Just picked up an 06 Fleetwoord Pioneer 280BH TT friday. My wife and I along with our 2 year old daughter will be using it for traveling and any other use we can find for it. Our TV is an 04 F150 crew cab 2wd with the 5.4 v8 and it done a god job towing the trailer home and the reese weight distribution hitch worked flawlessly but it makes alot of noise that I wasn't quite expecting. Everytime we would turn it would start popping and anyone closeby would look at us like we were crazy. So that's gotta be diminished somehow. Overall the trailer is in great condition. The tires look good and the interior hasn't been torn apart. The trailer was stored inside a big warehouse when not in use but now we don't have a garage or anything to put it under so it's outside in the rain as we speak. It was comforting going inside it earlier and not finding any leaks though.

I don't think it was a bad purchase for $7,500. Thanks for any help i'll receive in the future.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your newly acquired RV. Not sure what your hitch noise is all about, but someone will make sugestions. I would check to see if the TT is level when hooked to the truck. Good luck...

Glad you found us.

Some 'popping' is normal, but make sure your chain isn't twisted when you hook it up.

May this be the first of many RV adventures.

Thanks Mr.Rick for the welcome. We are a young couple with me being 24 so we love camping but with the summer insects here in the south and our daughter made sleeping in a tent unpractical. The only problem I see in the forseeable future is her family living in Oregon my 1/2ton truck won't like pulling a 7,000lb+ trailer over the rockies. So a TV upgrade will possibly be needed in the future. Right now we're living in Louisiana so it's not a problem.

The guy we bought the trailer from tought me how to do the hooking up so according to our measurements the trailer was level. I got some hitch greese and lubed inside the coupling on the trailer when we got home cause it was slightly rusted but haven't towed the trailer since so I don't know if that will help any.

The guy I bought the trailer from warned me about the hitch making noise but I wasn't expecting it to be nearly this loud. I can't remember if the chains were twisted or not now thinking back. I will say that it has to be producing more noise then "normal". It litterally sounds like a 22 rifle shooting and was quite embarrassing pulling into our neighborhood. Is it possible that I could have had the bars too tight? I had the hooks in the 5th link from the bars and it was pretty tight once positioned but like stated above everything sat level but that noise would get old on a long road trip.
