first time RV'er. needing guidance
Hello all. I just bought a 77 Dodge Vogue motorhome. completely new to this lifestyle but so excited.
I have a few questions, I hope someone can help me. First off, does anyone know where I can download a manual. That might avoid a lot of annoying questions.
In the meantime. Does anyone know where I can find the converter box? I have electricity but no lights. Outlets work, fridge works. but no lights...

IV-
You could try posting in the Vintage RV Forum for more direct responses, or in the Class A Forum where a lot of older rig owner's congregate..
I'm guessing you have a 440 cubic inch big block, or 360 small block.
Locating your converter shouldn't be a mystery. There should be electrical breakers someplace; usually the converter in those old rigs is an all-in-one assembly that has 120V input & 120V breaker output, plus converter w/12V fuse distribution for coach 12V lighting, maybe water pump, probably battery charger function. Keep opening panels, or else follow the shore cord till you find it. One nice upgrade in old rigs is to get a direct replacement updated converter that has 3 stage charging.
If your rig has a generator, its output should also go to a transfer switch, which in your case may be a manual plug where you unplug the shore cord & plug in the gen plug. My '86 Winnie (Chevy chassis) was something like that.

RV manuals are nothing like a car owners manual. They are extremely generic and totally worthless. As for the converter? Look for a vented panel of some sort in the rear near where the shore power cord comes in, or under the refrigerator. That is two really common locations.
Also refer and outlets work on 120VAC. Lights will work on 12VDC. Do you have a house battery installed and in good condition?

Welcome and glad to meet you!
Any questions would better be posted in the appropriate forums. Perhaps posting your question in the vintage forum would be better.
