Flatlanders waiting to hit the road
My wife and I currently have a 5 year plan to be full timers. We used to camp quite a bit, then bought a house on the lake 5 years ago and, due to remodeling the house, mowing the 3.5 acres, boating on the lake, etc., haven't ventured out since. We miss the open road, travelling, meeting new people, and cocktails by the fire. During our years of marriage, we tent camped, then bought a pop-up, then upgraded once more to a hybrid travel trailer. We are now planning on buying a fifth wheel toy hauler and I enjoy doing the research to find the best one that will fit our needs. We were both born and raised in Illinois and still have family ties here, but enjoy visiting the mountains and all the other views that don't include corn, wheat, and beans. I retired from the Navy so I also have a personal longing to smell the salt air of both coasts. Hopefully I/we can eventually contribute to this website, but for now, I look forward to hearing about everyone's experiences, opinions, and advice.

Welcome to the forum. The boating on the lake I could take but mowing 3 plus acres is a no no for me. Good luck with your adventure.
