Florida Newbies

My name is Phil and my wife is Gail. I am retired Navy and we recently bought our first RV. It is a 96 Damon Intruder 34' Class A unit in very nice condition. I have driven a lot of big vehicles so this is no problem for me. But the wife says she will only drive it on the highways when it's easier to navigate without all the traffic and problems of driving within cities.
We are located in Tarpon Springs FL just north of Clearwater and St. Petersburg. We have joined Good Sam club and presently our RV is in the local camping world in Holiday FL for a tune up and oil change and some minor check-ups.
Since we are new to this, we would love to get to know other RVers, especially those that live near us. We just got involved in this web site too so I am looking forward to using it.
See you all on the road at some time soon I hope. We will not be full timers but doing doing short trips for a while. Hoping to eventually goo mostly full time.

Howdy and welcome aboard. Congrats on the purchase and hope you really enjoy your travels. Thank you for your service to our country.
We too are in FL but just for two more weeks as the snowbird season is over. Back to MI then back here to Zephyrhills next Dec. Enjoy the site as I'm sure you'll make many new friends.

New from Florida

I recently added some information about my wife and I being new to this site and to RVs in general. I decided to add some photos here so you can see the 1996 Damon Intruder we just purchased. Looking forward to getting out and seeing some things nearby first of all and then extend our range as we progress.
