Began researching RVs in 2001, right after 9/11 and found myself in the middle of the Middle East . . . wishing I wasn't. RVs represented everything I couldn't do at the time, but wanted to (including flying). It was a great escape for the slow times and continued on after I got back from SA. That dream manifest on 24 June 2007 with a previously owned 2006 National Dolphin LX 36' W22 8.1L 5 spd Allison 2 kids 2 dogs and designated wife. Retiring soon from the Corps and looking forward to seeing things we've put off for way too long. I knew it would find me vice the other way around; that's exactly what happened.

Love college football and plan to tailgate this fall at every opportunity. I think I'll claim a spot for the Rose parade too. I can do that now . . . that I have a coach.

Lastly, it qualifies as a second home, a place to escape to during a natural disaster, and beats the heck out of the couch if I'm relegated to the doghouse (couch with a fridge).

In reality, I can get to all the military sites and my friends really like to go there. So . . . I have to go too (host). Might as well have a rig myself.

So, hey, how the heck do you put a picture on this forum?

Geocaching! How cool is that!? You RV people have been holdin' out! Can't wait to try it with the kids.

I am soooo excited for you! Congrats on your new (to you) '06 coach. It's always better to let someone else eat that first year's deterioration -- uh, depreciation -- on these babies!

Now that you're back here in the states you can begin enjoying one of the MANY freedoms we can emjoy here without fear (except insolvency!! LOL!!).

Geocaching sounds like lots of fun to me, too!

janice

PS: "Designated wife" is the newest meaning for DW I have heard. LOL. I'll have to remember that one!

Welcome to RVing, and to the best place to go to on the Web for info on it. Come on over to the National RV Owners Forum and get acquainted. We have a lot of experience here. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and there are no dumb ones. Jump right in.

Thank you all.

My military mind just defaulted to "designated" wife. It wasn't a brilliant moment of humor I assure you.

So . . . to follow-up, what the heck does DW stand for - usually.

I'm dealing with the 1 compressor/2 compressor switch in 50 amp storage bay. I'm assuming the National RV Owner's forum is the place to discuss that.
