Forza Brakes

Hey Yall,
I'm a newbie to the site but was told you all were very helpful.

I've got a 2017 38W Forza. Had the 1 year maintenance performed 2 months ago by a Freightliner dealer.
After starting it up and move forward, brakes are fine, but as soon as I put it in reverse, the front brakes grab and sounds horrible. Back to drive, no problem. After driving for a while, I can stop, put in reverse and no issues. Someone suggested rust, but I don't think it would happen overnight though.

Any thoughts?

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I'm not a mechanic so won't attempt to answer your question. Hopefully someone else will be able to help.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

My car rotors rust overnight. Take a look at them in the morning.

Actually yes it is possible to get some rust on them overnight. Are parked any where near high voltage electric wires? Also if I remember correctly you have air brakes. Are there any checks that should be performed daily or monthly on them or the air system. Freightliner Chassis web site has a bunch of stuff you may want to download and read about your chassis.

Welcome to the forum!

I have a '15 Forza but have not experienced any issues with the brakes. Tell us what you discover!

Response-

I checked for rust and there was some, but not extensive. I read a article about the use of tire and wheel cleaner and how it can make the brakes make noise. Since reading the article, I use only soap and water and have not had any additional issues. Oh ya. Bleeding the air from the lines was also done
.

As long as it goes away in a short while, I would not worry. Not uncommon for any vehicle.

Yes, you'll get some rust overnite - but not to the degree you're indicating. If problem persists, I strongly recommend you call FRTLNR (1-800 FTL-HELP).
