Future RV'er and new user.......

Hello,
I'm new to this site and to RVing in general. We are in the shopping stage for our first Class A and like the floorplans of the units with the midcoach living room. We see value in entering right into the kitchen, but having not ever owned an RV is there something we are not considering that makes the front kitchen motorhomes less desireable??? There aren't many Companies ( that I found) that have this option, so am wondering if it's not a good seller for a specific reason. Appreciate any insight and help.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to IRV2 forum.

I'm sure you will get lot's of opinions here when it comes to floor plan questions.

I think the front kitchen midcoach living area is gaining in popularity at present and many like it because it makes it easy to get the TV from over the driver area and down to eye level.

There are considerations with weight distribution - heavy refridgerator toward the front on that front axle that might already be overloaded. It's easier to do on a DP with the heavy engine in the rear, but you'll see gasers with that arrangement too.

Floor plan is one of the most important considerations when picking a coach, so shop a lot until to get find what you want.

Since you asked for opinions, here's mine. I like mid entry with living area to the right, swivel front seats that become part of living room and kitchen to the left. This seems the most natural to me. We've only had our MH about 5 months but have already spent a lot of time in it and feel real comfortable with the floor plan. I should mention that I spent 3 years looking at literally thousands of pics online and dozens of units in person before purchasing! Take your time and get it right the first time. don't settle for something with the mindset that you can always trade up later. You'll lose a lot of money that way!

Yes Monarchman I see your point. One of our concerns was that with a "standard" floorplan, each time you enter you have to walk clear across the living room to get to the kitchen, but with a mid-door unit that removes that issue. Have seen about as many mid-entry units as we have mid-living room......not much inventory to choose from!! The search continues. Thanks all.........
