GenXRamblers - Intro

Hi everyone! We've been reading (lurking) for several weeks (or has it been months) now on iRV2 and have gleaned so much great info. Thank you to everyone who shares their knowledge!

We (David and Trish) are not really new to RVing, but have not been active for a long time. We obtained our first RV from my (David's) dad back in 2007 or so. He had used it for about 5-6 years before he decided he couldn't manage it anymore. It was a 1986 38 Holiday Rambler Imperial Limited DP (an oldie but goodie!). We had a few great vacations in it and then used it to live in for a month while we relocated to Georgia from Colorado. It was packed tight and bulging at the seams with our 2 Labs, 3 kids, Grandma and Trish and I. It was so much fun!!!

Unfortunately, we didn't use it much after we arrived because we couldn't locate the title to get new tags for it. It ended up sitting for far too long. We decided this year to get it back on the road. There ended up being quite a bit of work needed and it just wasn't the floorplan we desired. So we traded it in for our new (newer anyway) 2000 Winnebago Chieftain 36L DP. We are loving the new(er) rig. In fact, we are several weeks into an interior refresh (paint, fixes, updates, etc.) and should have it back on the road in another month or so. We have gotten the itch to hit the road full-time once our youngest is off to college/military/someone else's couch, etc. That's going to be another 4 1/2 years (1682 days... we are counting!). Until then, we are planning plenty of short and medium trips. I (David) work from home and thus have no issues with working from the road. My wife (Trish) is hoping to find a great work from home job also.

Hope to see some of you on the road, in the RV Parks, or somewhere off the beaten path.

We'll be uploading our progress on the RV onto our web site soon. Stay tuned.

David & Trish.

With that attitude it sounds like you were made for the RV world. You sound like great people and I hope to see you as well. If coming through Oklahoma give us a holler.
