Getting Ready to Full Time.......Scared stupid!

Hi Everyone
We've been waiting for this moment for quite some time and I think it's here?
I'm so scared, giving up our home of 20+ years. We've had enough with trying to keep up with this monster of a house, (and it's a way to get our last remaining son and his family OUT on their own.) and having to deal with snow...don't get me started....AND we're just frick'in tired. One more AND, I turn 60 next weekend and I am mortified!!
There is so much to learn...so many questions!.How do you all do it? I wish there were groups that we could just follow around until most of our questions and "bugs" are worked out as far as mail, meds and Dr.s are concerned. The rest of it, as far as the coach goes, is not an issue....until one comes up, that is.
We do have one plus on our side. We're already used to living in our coach...did it for 2 years with no problem.
Anyway, I am a member(just can't remember when I first started) and dropped out because it seemed our dream wasn't going to come true and now WHAM-O! A little angel came out and said "PRANG, GO OUT AND PLAY!" and my husband said he'd had enough of domestication and home ownership, so IT'S TIME! Well, I'm still scared stupid but that may end when we actually start loading up the coach. It is good to be back because now when I stub my toe, I can come running to you all, right?
I do need to change my user name, we lost our Twooie almost 3 yrs ago now and it continues to sting my heart. It's good to be back guys, I just hope you're all ready us!

Hi Marian and welcome back to the forum. It can be pretty intimidating and being scared isn't unusual but it'll pass quickly. You've already got a huge hurdle behind you in that you lived in your rig for two years so you won't find out you just can't be confined in such a small space.

If you use the search feature and browse through our full timers forum you'll find a lot of information on how many of us handle things like meds (Walgreens for us) and mail (Escapees for us). You'll need to determine what state you want for your domicile and I'm pretty sure it won't be California.

We lived for 25 years not far from you in Granite Bay... near Folsom, Sac, etc. Bought our rig in early 07... were on the road about 3/4 time for two years... sold the house and was full time for two years. We traveled all over, keeping an eye out for anyplace we might find that we would want to "settle down" in. Recently we bought a 1600 sq ft townhouse about 20 miles from Phoenix and we're loving it. I'll tell you, living in the coach was a great way for us to adjust to "down sizing" housing because our 1600 sq ft now seems like a palace to us!!!

If you click on "user CP" it'll take you to your user control panel and you'll be able to do it from there.

Hi Marion. I understand all your concerns. Frank retired in March and we sold everything we owned. We couldn't sell the house so we rented it out and that is working out real well. I quit my job at 60 and Frank is able to collect SS and a small pension. Since the MH is paid for, we are able to live on very little income and even travel a little bit. We hesitated several times but finally on April 1 we headed from NC to CA. When you get out on the road, post where you are camping and chances are another IRV2 member could show up to camp with you. Use the members on this forum. There is so much knowledge and a willingness to help. Ask all the questions you need to. Good luck and Happy Travels.

You're in the right spot! There will be lots of questions coming up, but you can get all of them answered right here. Can't tell you how many times this forum has saved me, from bigger stuff to smaller stuff. So, don't worry too much...one step at a time and before you know it, you'll be on the road!

Please forgive my density, but you lost me at user control panel....I see the option to change email and password, but not my user name and I am gun shy at hitting the "change password" button,( very bad experience w/ face book, hey anybody do FarmVille? Naw, never mind... but just in case...?.) soooo what"s next?

Imma gonna tell you what.....If we gave up our house to go live in an rv we'ed be a worrin too
