Going to pick up

Hello, Going to pick up a 1988 Champion LaSalle 30 Foot Motorhome tomorrow. This after leaving a deposit on a winnebago yesterday, oh well. Looking around though, I cant find any info on Champion motorhomes. Are that rare? Or have they all fallen apart by now. Has a chevy 454, this is all I know. Needs tune-up. And tires. And windshield wipers. Cant wait to get camping though, somewhere near Tampa. Any suggestions for a first time out? With kids?
Thanks
Tim

Hey Tim,
Welcome. I think you will find some info on Champion here http://www.championfleetowners.org/ .

You should also check our "Vintage RV'S" forum here on the IRV2 site. Les

Tim;

Welcome to iRV2. Sorry I can't help you with your questions. We do have a great group here who like to help when they can so don't be afraid to ask questions. I assume this is your first MH and if so I can relate to the excitement of that first camp out. My first MH was 19 years ago and I can still remember vividly that first shake down trip.

Post often and share your RV adventures with us.

Don

Thanks. Had no idea it would be $600 to register it. Plus insurance. Etc. Now to stock it up. Plus gas and propane. $$$

Champion was bought by Firan and I believe eventually bought by Forest River.

Welcome Tim,
Hope y'all have a great time with your MH. Can't help you much with the Tampa area. That's just not my part of the state.
