grayagers on big tour

hello, I am Axel and my wife is Angelika. We are retired and 69/66 years old. As You easily can notice we are German and so for my english is not at the best.
We intend to see as much as possible of all the northern american Continent, i.c. from Alaska down to Panama. We will do this in various (4-6) trips of 3 months each. Every year in spring and fall. Well, for Alaska we have to go in summer and to Central America late fall or even winter would be good. I think??
We are coming with our own RV. As visa rules in the US are fairly rude - as I was told - we need as much information and help as possible.
We start our tour in Halifax/Cd. and will ask for a E99 form which might allow us to have the car for more than 12 months in the country and to let it somewhere while we fly home to see the family (grandchildren).
Letīs hope all will come out well.
Axel

Wilkommen, Angelika und Axel. That's close to my limit in German. The immigration rules, even for tourists, are excessively complicated these days. I often think the bad guys have already won the battle, as the US is spending untold billions in new rules, equipment and procedures, just to prevent Gradma bringing in a bottle of shampoo.

I would strongly recommend a visit to your nearest US Consulate or Embassy and get the best recommendations from them regarding your plans. I don't think there's a limit on having your vehicle in storage while you go back to see family. I don't know how long your German license plates will be acceptable.

It sounds like a wonderful adventure. The Northwest is often described as the fijords and isalnds of Norway and western Scotland combined with the mountsins of the Alps. We love living here, and have lived in western Washington all but 3 years of the 45 years since we left England.

All the best in your travels.

Axel,
You need to speak with "the Danes are coming" (Henrik & Anne). They are obviously from Denmark and have a motorhome and auto here in the US. They travel back and forth as much as possible and have seen many of the areas you plan to visit. They may be able to help.
My family came to the US from Heidelberg in the 1750's. Arrived here just in time to fight with George Washington.
