After a thirty year break from RVing I'm back. Will be taking delivery of a 95 Vectra next week and need to quickly get back up to speed before I pack it up with the wife and two daughters, Kohkoh the dog and her pet cat (she still thinks it's a puppy).

I worked as a contractor for a millwork firm in New England which involved the duties of cabinet maker, framer, heavy carpenter, electrician, plumber, machinest, pipefitter, welder, plant mechanic, HVAC technician, painter, spray booth operater, glue line, etc, etc, etc until a ladder failure closed the gap between my feet and the concrete located 20 feet below in a heartbeat. Today I am a computer programmer and walk with a cane but still like to make some dust and sparks and get some dirt on my hands.

The Vectra will help keep me in dust, dirt and sparks for a while as it does need some TLC but everything works and most is in good order.

I'll provide the details of what I am up to in the Winnebago forum and look foward to my re-education there.

Welcome to iRV2, and welcome back to the great RV lifestyle!! I am sure you will get much pleasure from both!! Also I see you said you worked in New Englad, not sure if your still up there or not, but if so feel free to join us NorEasters, we have a great time everytime we get togeather

!! Which we will be doing in Feb. for brunch, and a trip to the RV Show in Springfirld Mass.

NeilV, Welcome. Reference the Thetford height. I looked into a variety of aids as I assist with my 93 year old MIL's needs. There's a lot of information on the web. One thing I found out is many people have problems adjusting to the taller seats. Because there are more than one person using it if height is a problem there are seats that can be removed when not needed. We settled on sturdy rails which have been used for over a year now. Good luck and welcome back to RVing.

On the web is also directions on how to use a cane, most people do it wrong, and a good place to see what's available for any other challenges.

NeilV, welcome to our website and know that we are glad to have you join us here. Congratulations on the new to you rig. I am sure you will enjoy it as much as you will this forum. We look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. What part of Fl. are you in? You might want to get with other FL. members for a rally.
