Greetings Campers

Hello everyone!

Lifetime tent camper that married a non-camper about 12 years ago. I've taken her tent camping a few times over the years, but it's always a challenge to get her to agree. We have 2 kids, 7 and 9.

I'm looking seriously at hybrids. I've seen the pro's and con's, but, in the end I need something with hard sides, to keep the DW happy and lightweight, to keep within the TV spec's.

Thanks to all of you for constructive advice that I've seen in the past few weeks that I've been lurking.

Hi Barret

Glad to have you here in the forum with us. Your idea of a hard walled camper is a good way to go. If you make the camping experience ,ore like a room in the woods rather than a tent in the woods her ideas about camping will change.

Good luck with your search and Happy Trails!!!!

Welcome from a previous tent, pop-up and now RV camper.

If you're still open to options and sort of handy you might consider an older class C for now. We bought a 1996 Tiagra and it looks great. The only thing I had to fix was the generator. I also installed a great solar system and it's ready for boondocking, dry camping or just the theme parks.

The RV, solar, generator repair and a new tow dolly was about 13k. Just another option.

Thanks for all the Welcomes, and, I have some news........

I bought a 2006 Shamrock 19 hybrid!!!!!

I'll post more info in the New Rig section.

okcnewbie, thanks for the suggestion on the Class C. On an extremely low budget and got the camper for a very low price.
