Greetings from across the pond

Hi to all you RV owners,
Which sadly doesn't include me.... as yet. However, soon, we would like to correct that problem so that we can wander around Europe to places where the sun shines more than just occaisionally.
First though we need to identify and obtain the "best" RV. I realise that "best" is a subjective word, so I'm gatering info and serching this site for knowledge.
The problem for me in the UK is that the majority of RV's that have arrived, are here because they a) provided a nice profit margin b) grabbed when the exchange rate was beneficial. So most of what I see is rather old and very basic. So i'm going to import my own......!!!
Obviously, I'm going to learn a lot from the info on this site and may even find out the ultimate answer to things like "which chassis is best...?". But all this needs to be done via the internet and not via the real thing. So any comments on makes, models, high end specs, best quality makes etc etc would be welcome.

Regards to all

RR2S1 Welcome toIRV2. How big of an RV are you looking for?,aren't the roads in the U.K. small or narrow. I had a friend thats from there came to vist and was surprised how big my 2006 f350 dwr truck wsa and said if we drove it over there we would knock everyone off the road, or tear our mirrors off. lol Greg

Thanks for you replies,

Pace Arrow seems to tick most of the boxes for us. Don't kow if that's a good or bad thing.....? Petrol is good because we can use LPG (1/2 price to petrol) which I already use on my Range Rovers.

36 -37 ft is were we are looking and having checked with the goverment (DVLA) is legal to have on the UK & EU roads.

Your correct, there will be restrictions on where we can drive this beast, but in reality it will be no bigger than a commercial (passenger) coach and after a couple of shake down trips in the UK we hope to be off to the sunshine via German Autobanns. I use to own and tow a Maxum 23 boat behind my RR so I'm use to knocking a few locals off.
They get use to it......!!!

I'm off to the Fleetwood section to find out if they are any good.
