I'm new to this site, but have been a "closet lurker" for quite some time. I'm retired, but my bride of 41 years still has one year to go and then we plan on doing the Snowbird bit for a year and then hit the road and see the US up close and personal.

Norton, Welcome to the IRV2 website, glad to have you with us.
That's what happened to me, I retired and had to wait one year till my wife retired before we started snowbirding, I didn't want to wish my life away but that one year seemed to take forever to come around, good luck with with your retirement. Ed.S
P.S. During that year I did learn to wash and fold the clothes, do the dishes and put them away, you see where I'am going with this?

I've been doing the laundry and folding clothes for 4 years now. And according to my wife, I still get it wrong. I got fired from house cleaning . So far, she hasn't complained too much about the cooking. I'm sure that parts of the year will drag along quite slowly, but we do use the motorhome a minimum of 10 days every month from April to November, so that time will pass quite fast. It's the time from now until April that will drag along.

Norton,
May I also welcome you to iRV2..which is the best RV forum on the web...as far as I am concerned! You will find everyone here as friendly as the welcoming committee you experienced here
May I also suggest that you ask for some "Winnebago Karma" so everyone else knows how proud you are of your coach?
..and the last thing...what part of Central Oregon are you in? Check my blog and look at the map...you can check to see how close we are to each other...

I notice that you are in the Eugene/Springfield area and we are over the hill in Redmond. Although, we travel through Eugene 3 or 4 times each summer on our way to Florence. We found a nice and quiet little RV park there. It's nothing real fancy, but it's clean and quiet for us older folks and it's only 2 blocks from Heceta Beach.

Norton...
Which RV park is it in Florence? We actually own property in Florence and have spent a lot of time in Florence over the past 13 years...
..and I am living in an RV park in the Eugene/Springfield area right now, while we sell our house in California.
Hope we cross paths in the near future!

The RV Park is Heceta Beach RV Park and MiniMart. http://www.hecetabeachrv.com/index.htm

My wife and I are seriously looking at Florence as a retirement area in another year.

You just never know, we might cross paths. We're in the same neighborhood.

Norton,
This is one of the nicest parks we have found in the Florence area..Harbor Vista
It's near Heceta beach rv park. (Turn left at Rhodo Drive right there behind the store at heceta and its down about 1/2 mile on the right). Don't remember whether it had 50 Amp though..We only needed 30 the last time there.

We've looked at it and found it to be very nice indeed. But, we don't have a satellite on the coach and I just gotta have TV in the evenings. I can't afford to go to 3 Rivers Casino every night.
