Greetings from Fargo-Moorhead

Hi, all. Just bought my first RV in June -- a golden oldie 1977 Minnie Winnie that I'm crazy about. My Mom has been wanting to travel in an RV since the week after they started making them, and as she approaches her mid-80s...the kids decided it was high time to make it happen. It's a simple set up, but just right for our needs right now.

The purchase, maintenance and operation is falling to me, and I cannot tell you how worried that had me -- so much to learn. That's how I found this site -- have been browsing a bit and it seems like a great place to bounce ideas around. Thanks in advance for sharing your wisdom.

So far, I've brought it to the planet's greatest mechanic for a once-over and a bit of a tune-up, had a long-time RVer walk me through all of the systems, got new tires...then headed out on our first family adventure. It couldn't have gone any better than it did. Even the draining of the blackwater tank was a breeze. Have yet to use the propane tanks, though, and need to replace the frig, water heater and...? is it the inverter that starts the frig (there's a pilot light involved), plus search out winter storage.

We're looking at a number of long weekend trips from my home base of Moorhead MN (across the Red River from Fargo ND), which will include fall excursions. Also intrigued with the idea of RVing in the winter, but it does get kind of cold way up here.

That's a bit about me -- will be spending a lot of time browsing these discussions. I've already learned a lot from you folks!
