Hello everybody,

Have always enjoyed camping with the family. But now that the 'kids' don't need Mom and Dad anymore, my wife and I decided to get a rig to spend some time with nature and each others' company.

I have a 25ft 2004 Trail Lite Class A and purchased a 2006 CR-V that I will use as a toad. Just ordered the base plate from amazon (hey, they sell more than books!) and plan to perform the install myself including the electrics.

Being semi-retired, we usually plan to escape with the MH every couple of weeks in the summer. But with the rising price of gas, we might go less frequently but stay for longer periods. Its a question of keeping our average costs per day as low as possible to be able to get away more often in a given year.

Next winter, we plan to head south for 3 months or so. I hope my spending in the US will help stimulate the economy ! LOL

Anyways, looking forward to chatting and perhaps meeting some of you guys down the road.

Be well

Welcome to this forum and to the RV lifestyle. We used to live in the west island of Montreal which was where we really started camping. We met a nice group at Camping Daoust in Hudson, and developed many long time friendships. We are still very active in this group here in Ontario but remember some of the great places we camped durin our years in Montreal.
We really enjoyed High Falls Park in Chateauguay, New York, and we actually spent a night there last fall and it is still very nice. The walk to the Falls is outstanding. We also enjoyed the Massena International Campground as it too was an easy drive from Montreal. There are still two chapters active in that area and one is made up almost completely of retirees who love to enjoy the less crowded times at campgrounds. Many of them actually now live just across the border in Ontario.
