Hi Everyone!
I just took a job three and a half hours away, so I picked up my first motor home to live in during the week. It’s an ’89 Winnebago Elandan 37-footer in dire need of some TLC.

In resurrecting this gorgeous giant – I just love the styling – I am sure I will be spending many hours fixing both this and that. Over here, most motor homes are less than 20ft and rather cramped. The Elandan is like having a small apartment to live in, and long term parked in a campground it provides me with a home away from home.

I’m sure I will be asking plenty of questions about restoring a motor home and getting excellent advice. I have restored several cars, but never something quite this big. As the basic systems come on one by one, I realize just how much work I have ahead of me - but I’m sure the end result will be worth it.

Welcome to the BEST forum on RVing in the world!... You will certainly find many helpful and supportive members here.
I'm sure we would also enjoy any pictures of what campgrounds, your RV and the RVs of others look like in Sweeden, so feel free to send along any pictures.

Good luck with the project. You'll have to post some 'before' photos, and then keep us up to date as you move along on the restoration.

I didn't know there were any RV's that big in all of Europe!
How did they get it over there.
Are you sure it doesn't float?

Love those old Winnebagos. We have a beautiful 89 Avion travel trailer, 34'-11" long.

Welcome to the forums of irv2 DeOrellana.
The Vintage Forum would be a good place for your rebuild and for many idea's for you in what you intend to do with your coach.
Plus you have the Winnebago forum for problems you may run into also with access to Diagrams for all items in your coach.

It's been dumping rain here, but I did manage to take some pictures of the Winnebago, my parking spot, and the campground without getting too wet.
Like most campgrounds here, the spots are fairly small and they get very crowded in the summer. I have an oversized spot which is 40x20ft. You can get an idea of the size by the raked leaves - I only raked my own spot.

The campground looks a bit dreary in the pictures, but that's not really the case. It's actually very nice when the sun comes out. It should give you an idea of what our campgrounds look like.

The last picture was taken at the ferry terminal in Germany last weekend. I love the little trailer behind the Dutch RV.

RV part-time living is turning out to be quite nice. Now I just have to get the old girl roadworthy by the time summer vacation rolls around.

JMonroe: It was a bit disconcerting the first time I drove in a traffic circle with it. You really have to watch out so you don't sideswipe somebody in the lane next to you. I guess it is the same for city buss drivers - but other drivers don't stare at the city buses and forget to pay attention.
