Hello.

We are new members of your forum from Washington State. We have an older 37' Newmar Dutch Star which we have travelled the western half of the US in.

I have been trying to get service information on our engine, which I believe is a 5.9 liter Cummins. The VIN Code list on the Spartan web site does not include the 1993 model (model DS 3758). I think we have the 12 valve engine, as the 24 valve ISP came out on 1998 or 1999.

Can anyone direct me to a site where I can find information on this engine?

Thank you.
David and Sally Luse

Welcome to iRV2

There will be a data plate in the side of the timing gear cover just in front of the fuel injection pump. If for any reason the plate is missing or unreadable; you can find the engine serial number above the oil filter.
As in these diagrams.

For some reason both pictures wouldn't download to the first post.
Although this is info for a C engine , item 19 , the data plate is in the same place.

Welcome, Dave and Sally. We're recently-retired from the RV life because the cost was eating into our IRAs. We live in the Skyline neighborhood of Anacortes, just a bit south of the State Ferry terminal.
