Smile Hello

My name is Melissa. We are trying to jump into the RV life and need advice on which brands have the best quality. We are looking for a 5th wheel. Where can we find this information. We are finding that sales people just down the products they don't carry and talk up the products they do carry. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Welcome to iRV2.

I'll have to ask if your looking for a 5er to use as a full time Rver, or just a unit for weekend and holiday use?
Do you have a tow vehicle , or are you planning to size your truck according to the 5er you find to fit your needs ?
Unfortunately , your experience , with RV salespersons is the norm.

First question to ask an RV salesperson is " What kind of RV do you own ?"
JMHO: If they don't own an RV , they're not the person you want to deal with.

Welcome and do lots of research. Look at various rigs at different dealers as well as an RV show if one in your area.
Keep in mind floor plan, storage capacity, various tank capacities, full time or weekend warrior, and what are you pulling it with. Do you have the capacity for the rig you want?
Good luck

+1 on going to rv shows. My wife and I went to probably 8 of them over 3 years before we convinced ourselves to jump in. Of course, we overthink everything! Find a floor plan you like, ask lots of questions. Never take your checkbook to the show! Research dealers. And, never buy any rv without a PDI. We camped at our dealer for 3 days, at their suggestion, while we got comfortable with our rig. For us, it was worth the additional drive.

Hi Melissa

Glad to have you here in the forum with us. You're gonna like it here.

Your best place to look for an RV is at one of the major RV shows. Most manufacturers will be there and you'll be able to see the units side by side. You will be able to find what you need.

Happy Trails!!!

Just remember that you should go to a dealership armed with your tow vehicles capacities. Too many get sold something they can't legally haul.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I agree with TonyDi. Go to a large RV show and kick a lot of tires!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
