Hi there!
New to this forum so I thought i'd check in and say hello.
I'm Paul, and together with my wife ffiona, we're full timers in the UK. Not that many of us over here compared to you guys, but hey, it's a start
We're on our second RV now and for full timing through British winters, wouldn't dream of using anything but an American RV. We really haven't got anything over here that comes close to the size or spec'. Well, there is one company but they start at £250,000 ($460K) and to be honest, they aren't a patch on your average RV for trim and finish!
Right, I'm off to read the forum. All this lovely new RV info' for an info' starved Brit!
See you around guys! - well, I might if I'm ever lucky enough to get your side of the 'pond'.

Hello Paul,

One trip to the UK is on my future (after retirement) plans. All I want is a little campervan and hopefully a k-9 pal for my visit.

I just wonder, do you also have a toad. Do you travel much? and do you use the toad to reach those places you'd miss having such a big vehicle?

I've joined two UK rving forums, but am open to others.

Hiya mate!
Yes we do try to travel at least every 2nd weekend. Obviously the UK is much smaller so our distances aren't as great as yours but there's lots to see. We've got the next 3 weekends booked and I think the furthest is about 100 miles. Thankfully, the scenery in the uK is very diverse so you don't have to travel far to get into a completely different area. We don't use a toad as we like to go to Scotland and Wales where the roads are VERY narrow so we prefer to carry a 250cc motorbike on the back so that we can reverse if necessary. As it happens, I think it wont be long before toads are banned here (they already are in France and Spain)so people will have to put the car on a trailer.

Really? Which two? I use this one, RVAMERICA, Motorhomefacts.com and A.R.V.E

Thats it for me. It's Friday 12.30pm here and we finish at lunch on a friday. Yipeeeeee!
A weekend of preventative re-sealing on my front cap ahead :-)

Paul, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. It is already interesting to read of the differences of our counrties' laws concerning or lifestyles. While there are other good RV topic websites out there, this one has been said to be the best and I agree. Good luck and enjoy!
