Hello

My wife and I traded in our 95 Empire for the 03 Potomac 28 BHS TT. The Potomac dry weight is 7,500 lbs. Need new Dodge truck to tow TT. Purchased new 03 1500 Ram. We had not towed the trailer on a real vacation untill June 2007. Started vacation with 2003 ram 1500. Arived at our first campground OK. Pulled out and started to our 2nd campground stop. Ooops 9 1/4 axle I.E.D.'S on highway. Dealer in Maryland can repair it in 2 weeks (have you seen the movie The Money Pit?) (same crew now works in service department) BUUUT they have a new '07 2500 2wd 5.9 diesel (that looks like the '03 1500) that will get us and the Potomac home. It will only cost us sticker price of $42,000.00, thats twice the price I paid for the '03. Sales manager was correct, I will never tow with a gas truck again (including a hemi ). Nice to drive home with the ac on and the speed control on with Serius satellite radio playing(could not use the ac or speed control towing with the gas truck) and a 11.5 AAM axel protecting our backside. I relearned a valuable lesson, never buy anything that is rated to the limit of what you need it to do. We love to RV now that those people that grew up in our house have moved out.

The 5.9 in the Dodge is a good engine. It would have been the way we would have gone if we had a 5r.
