WELCOME to iRV2 and the Newmar Owner's Forum!
We look forward to following your search for a tow vehicle, I'd bet there will even be a few t weigh in with some advice!
We have several fiver pullers here and they use everything from a Ford Tow Boss to a single axle HDT!!
Hold on a while and let them come on board...
Have any idea of what you're looking for?

Rather than starting a "brand" comparison, let's maybe try and figure out the original poster's needs and wants and "tailor" our suggestions accordingly.
As a former fiver owner, I can attest to wanting a dual wheeled pickup as I felt the duals provided a more stable platform for the towed unit, but even this advice can be suspect as there are some that use the TV as a daily driver and as such don't want the duals....
I drove it every day and it was never an issue, but I used to drive fire trucks for a living too....
Depending on the weight of the towed unit, some folks have even moved to a medium duty truck....

Having pulled 5ers for twenty years using a number of 2500 series trucks it would seem to me that the least you will need is a 3500 dually. Depending on the weight of your 5er I feel may have to go to a medium duty truck.
Enjoy!!!

Thanks to all of you that responded. As per the little sticker on the trailer it says, GVWR 20,000 # hope thats some help to those of you that asked about the weight. As i said its a Mountain Aire 5th wheeler with most of the whistles and bells. I have no idea what the actual weight of this 13'3" high, "behemoth" is.
