Hello All,, Newbie Here.....

Just new to the RV scene. My wife and I are 1 year retired, spent this winter in Costa Rica but have decided to see more of North America on 4 or 6 wheels.

We live in Ontario, Canada, so will be spending the winter months somewhere warm like Florida or Texas, or wherever the map allows.

We have purchased a 2005 Coachmen Santana 35DS in great shape and are looking forward to getting to know her. Any helpful hints on this model would be greatly appreciated and of course anything else related to this new lifestyle.
Iím a member of a number of other forums related to some of my other pursuits and greatly appreciate the wealth of knowledge to be found here and the willingness to share.

Thanks in advance to all and I look forward to finding answers to my questions as they arise.
Cheers!
Peter

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good folks and good info here. Congrats on the new coach and the retirement. We "retired" to the Dominican Republic 12 years ago and for the last couple of years splitting out time there and in the US in our MH. Looking to sell the villa in the DR and going full time in the RV. Good luck in your adventure.

Hi Peter. Well you survived the opening barrage of smilies from the usual welcome suspects, so as a fellow Canuck I’ll just say good day,eh?

Where in Ontario do you live? Was brought up on a military base on the Ottawa Valley, and having had a large family in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay, we know those roadways very well.

You will find lots of info here. Spend a while learning how to navigate it, especially using the Google powered irv2 search engine specific to the forum. By entering your make and length in there, you will find conversations related to your rig. There may also be a Santana owners group.

You will find it easier when asking questions if you include the year, make and model in your signature. Responders to your enquiries will find that info helpful, some will ask for it if it is not there.

Anyhow, good sledding, keep your stick on the ice, and maybe one day you’ll be out here with your rig visiting our beautiful Pacific paradise.

Cheers!

Thank you!

Thanks for the warm welcome All.
I’ll add my rig info et al into my signature as suggested,, thanks for that.
We live in Eastern Ontario near Petawawa Excesses if that’s the one you’re speaking of. I’ve been to a couple of others in an earlier life for one reason or another .

Thanks again. I look forward to researching and mining info and hopefully one day being able to provide some educated responses as well.
