Hello All - We're New Here!

Hello!

My name is Pete and I've been visiting the iRV2 forums for quite awhile, learning about various topics before purchasing our travel trailer. My fiancée (Shawna) and I just purchased our first RV, a 2009 20FT Rockwood Mini-Lite a few months ago and we've already been doing a good bit of traveling with it. We are both very fortunate to have jobs that allow us to take our work on the road and we plan to see as much of the country as we can. I'm sure we'll have plenty of questions but also hope that we'll be able to contribute to the community and make some new friends.

All the best,
Pete & Shawna

Working on the road

Welcome to the forum, I am also a newbie and able to work on the road. It was a beautiful plan...buy an RV, travel, and continue working, with a view. The problem I have found is a finding a good internet connection. I am curious to know if your work involves computers and how you secure a connection. I hope you are enjoying RVing as much as we are.

Joyce

Hi Joyce!

Yes, the work that we do does require a reliable internet connection and we've been dealing with the same challenges. Without the internet, we're 100% unable to work.

Whenever possible, we try to select a campground or area that offers WiFi throughout so that we can work from the RV.

If WiFi is not available, we'll use our Verizon JetPack to do some light work like answer emails, etc. If we have a lot of heavy work to do, we'll visit a local restaurant with WiFi so we don't eat up too much bandwidth.

If we don't have internet, we don't work, and we usually don't stay long unless it's been a planned out vacation.

Pete
