Hi, we are brand new to this forum and to the RV lifestyle. We retired last year and just purchased our 2008 40 ft fleetwood. We found a tour guide online called adventure tours. They have a tour package to the San Antonio area, it seems a bit pricey. It is a 11 day tour package. I was just curious if anyone has booked on one of these tour guides, and is it worth the $2000.00 price tag?

youngfull-timers, welcome to our website and forums. We are glad to have you join us. Congratulations on your retirement and the new Fleetwood motorhome. I am sorry, I cannot help with the tour package issue. The wife and I have just recently resettled after 7 years of full timing. We hope to one day do it again when we retire.
You can do a search for tours by clicking on the "Find" button, enter criteria and uncheck the box to search the entire website. Good luck and be sure to check out all the forums.

welcome to iRV2
Most of these tours are worth the money, but you have to look at what you are getting for your money.
Where is RV park located.
How many group bus tours and does it include admission or is it explore on your own.
How many meals breakfast/dinners.
We stopped in the San Antonio area last year took the local tour bus saw so much, but needed more time.
So we spent over 7 weeks here, oh we are here right now as there is so much to see, Christmas in San Antonio. So we decided to spent a couple of more weeks here on our way to Quartzsite this year.
Bottom line tours are ok.

Just went to the Adventure Caravans web site and looked at what they are giving you, good deal, but I hope you have time to hang around the area. They are showing you so much in just a couple of days be ready to spent some time here after the tour.
If either of you have a walking problem the Natural Bridge Caverns are a very steep walk up and down.
When you go to Fredericksburg ask in the morning if they stop at Luckenbach, TX.
Hope you enjoy the tour.

Tours may be good for those starting out in fulltiming. A wet your feet thing. This will be more of a vacation tour than what fulltiming is about. Of course it will take you awhile to learn that fulltiming is best when taken slow and easy. All that said some people love to go on caravan tours.

youngfull-timers...Welcome to iRV2!I would like to also suggest you take a look at the Fleetwood Forum ..and even ask for some "karma" there...BUT you should change your RV type in your profile first!

Good luck with your decision - I am sure it will be fine no matter what you decide-because you will be in your rig!!

Again..welcome to iRV2...we hope you visit & post often.
