Hi Jeff and welcome to the great folks at iRV2.

Fifth Wheels are generally built for one of five levels of use (From light to heavy) Occasional Users, Every Weekenders, Vacationers, Snow Birds and Full Timers)

Let us know what kind of use you are going to be involved in and we can point you to the Manufacturers that produce the kind of rigs that support that use.

Dave

VPFD13,

Glad to have you here. One thing you will quiclky find out is forget anything the dealer tells you. Very few are RVers and do not have a clue as to what can be pulled by what. Their goal in life to sell you a trailer and get you off the lot. So do your won reseach and understand the issues of pulling and weight.

Once you find a suitable trailer, take an hour or so and sit in the trailer...tell the salesman to take a long hike and you will get back with him. While in the trailer, pretent to fix a meal, get ready for bed, stand in the shower, sit on the toilet and see where you will put clothes, food dishes, linens. A lot of trailers are woefully short on cabinets and drawers. Just make sure it suits your purpose.

Have fun shopping.

Ken
