Hello everyone

My name is Thane and my wife is Sharon. We live in SE Pa. I'm 57 and my wife is--- well lets just say younger then me. We travel with our african grey named Sam. We started resurching RV's in 2005 on line and by going shows and open houses. The first thing we learned was to avoid dealers and salesmen and talk to the people that already had RV's and really knew what they were talking about. After we decided on a fifth wheel the fun really started. In 2006 we purchased our truck-2006 GMC Sierra one ton dually with a 6.6 liter diesel and allison 6 speed transmission. On February of 2007 we purchased a new 39 ft. KZ Montego Bay fifth wheel. I used to pull trailers when I worked construction so the size didn't scare me. I'm glad to say that the advice we got over and over from seasoned RVers was to be sure not to get one that was too small. It was very good advice.
We have been mostly camping fairly close to home so far and have the time of our lives. When I retire we plan to travel the country. So until I retire we will just call our trips pratice for retirement.
I'm looking forward to learning from the seasonded RVers and hope that I might be of some help to others out there.

Thane & Sharon

Welcome to the forum. I agree, there are a lot of good folks on this forum always willing to help when they can. You will find adventures close to home can be as fun as adventures miles and miles away.

Many happy and safe miles.
