Read about it and read more about it, then rent and try out or join a friend for a while with a similar setup. Reality is always a little different from what we think it is.

You can spend a lot or do with little. Your going solo, so why not convert your own van?

I am new to this group too. I have been rv'ing for 6 to 8 years. On my second rv. Have had several problems with both. 1999 Beaver patriot and have privacy screen problems. Any ideas from anyone? Mrmagoo

Welcome to the site!! You'll find a lot of experience and wisdom scattered around in here... I'm sure that folks will be more than happy to address and questions and/or concerns you may have. RV'ing is great, whether it's the traditional way or full-timing it... nothing else comes close! Enjoy!

Welcome! As far as doing the right thing? Rving is the best! I have been traveling the country side camping with my parents since I was a youngster and now that I am an adult I continue to pass the experience on with my children and grandchildren. There is no better way to see the USA!
As far as doing it a by yourself? I can tell you that all the tasks of the setting up in the sites are simple for one person. It is always helpful to have another set of eyes when parking. This is easily found at the site next door. I have found most campers are like family and if they see you need assistance parking will jump on over and then leave you to enjoy your stay. Other than that one aspect the rest is easy.
I say YES you can enjoy all the benefits of RVing by yourself very easily. Sarah provided the link to Solo Rvrs. Check them out as they are the experts in this area.

rvgal, welcome to the forum. You should rent a small RV and take a trip and see how you like it before you jump into buying one....
