Smile Hello from Alaska

Well I'm temporarily in Houston, TX for the time being. Work relocation for a couple of years and living fulltime in my 2008 Itasca Sunova 35J class A. This is my first class A and it was a blast driving down from Alaska. My family came with me, so we made a vacation out of it. This is a great RV...especially with kids because it has rear slide-out bunks. But I did notice, while on the road, that the passenger rear suspension was sagging about 3 inches incomparison to the drivers rear. I thought about installing a set of Firestone air bags on top of the springs, to level it, but the salesperson advise against it because it would be a waste of money. He said with something this size he recomend getting new spring packs or adding a load helper spring to the sagging pack. Btw the RV has an F53 chasis. I'm a little lost on what to do...it drives fine but looks funny from behind. And I don't know what the longterm effect to rest of the RV if I was to leave it as is. Has anyone ran into such a situation? Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Soup

Hi Soup, welcome to the forum. I sure some of our experts on that chassis will chime in and give their opinions. I'm afraid I would have a hard time taking anything that a salesman says as gospel. I know some have put air bags on those chassis to make them ride better. As far as leveling it up, we'll have to wait for somebody experienced in that area to answer.

Soup;

Sorry I can't answer your question either but I can welcome you to iRV2. We have a wealth of info here so don't be afraid to ask questions. I would suggest you repost your suggestion on the Winnebago Industries Owners Forum. I believe you will receive more replies there. Post often and share your RV adventures with us. I am interested in hearing about the solution to your sagging problem.

Don
