Hello from Brockton, MA Newbie 2008 Winnebago 35J

Good morning from snow covered Brockton, MA. Last week I put a deposit on my very first motorhome, a 2008 Winnebago Sightseer 35J. I am planning to retire next year from 40 years of maintenance work including some time in the Coast Gaurd. My DW Donna has been surprisingly enthusiastic about becoming fulltimers as soon as possible! How lucky am I? We have been collectors, my dad was an auctioneer, so there is a bit of house cleaning to do. Oh yeah we also have a 13 year old son and three dogs who will travel with us as well, hence the bunkbeads. I have a million questions about everything ahead. I see there are a lot of people on this forum, many of them new like me. I hope to meet you somewhere on the road when I get there. Thanks for the opportunity to join you

Great looking rig. Don't sweat the fulltimeing that's the easy part, the cleaning out and discarding all those treasures will be the job. This coming from the son of an old antiques and auction man. Nose down keep cleaning out and you'll be on the road before you know it.

Thanks for the empathy, so many treasures to let go but we will do it. See you out there.

Ok, I am going to pick up the Sightseer this Saturday. I bought from a consignment dealer. They have promised to go through the coach and address any issues they find. They specifically will be replacing a cracked shower surround. They also promised to walk us, DW & I through all coach systems and then rewinterize it for us. Is there anything you can think of that is a hidden secret problem or system I should press them on?
