Hello from Delaware!

Just starting the process of anticipating the soon-to-be future of owning our new home on wheels. Still have a few months to go before life events allow us the freedom to travel, hopefully this fall, but after reading the many comments throughout the forum, it’s definitely a good idea to start planning and learning now. We’ve never owned anything before and it will just be my wife and I along with our dog and a couple cats. With a zoo in tow, we’re looking at a Class C so they have some freedom to roam during trips. Class A would be a possibility, but I think I like the idea of air bags and perhaps a bit more confidence in driving. Looking forward to everyone’s inputs, ideas, suggestions, and info on all the fun out there to be had!

Well, welcome to IRV2! This is the place to learn and share and ask a LOT of questions and get really good answers in reply.

When my kids were very young, 5, 3, 2 and a few months (yes FOUR! whew..) we bought an old 1978 Dodge Class C and moved from Massachusetts to Boise Idaho and really took our time. (Oh, we were pulling a utility trailer too..all our worldly possessions).

It's something we still talk about and as the kids grew up we spent MANY wonderful nights camping in.

Now we're getting ready to retire and four years ago bought an older Class A and WOW! What a difference! I would recommend at least driving a Class A. It's like looking at the biggest flat screen TV you can imagine when looking out that front windshield! And just imagine that while driving through the Tetons or the mountains of Colorado! Well, just about anywhere actually..it's truly amazing!

We don't have any pets, have thought about it and perhaps in the future we might, but I would think both Class A & C's would have a ton of room for them. Well, unless your pets are actually small horses!

So yeah, give both a try.
